Eight Newcomers Ready to Carry Torch

Published by Cal Baptist SID on August 14, 2015

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — California Baptist University men's cross country and track programs welcome eight newcomers for the upcoming 2015-16 season, including three nationally-accomplished runners. This group joins 13 returners, hoping to carry the torch of excellence the Lancers have become known for.

"This incoming group of eight men will add great depth to our cross country team this fall, while also providing strong additions in every distance event on the track," said head coach Ben Gall. "I am excited about the quality of this group as well as their desire to excel as part of our team. Each one of them will bring unique experiences and perspectives to our team as we continue to pursue our goals of becoming one of the top Division II programs."

Mirco Zenzen transfers in from Germany. He has finished in the top 10 of the German National Championships three times, including twice during his track season in the 3K and once during his cross country season.  His personal-best times are one minute, 56.15 seconds in the 800-meter, 3:53.69 in the 1500-meter race, 8:24.12 (3K) and lastly 15:02.59 for the 5K event.
