Week Two NCAA DII Outdoor TandF National Team Rankings - USTFCCCAPublished by
NEW ORLEANS – As more and more NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field teams and athletes get their spring campaigns rolling, the more and more the National Team Computer Rankings will change.
Case in point: take Tuesday’s release of the rankings by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), which are based only on the results of the 2015 outdoor season and tell which teams have had the strongest outdoor performances through this past weekend. The Chico State men and UC San Diego women remained atop their respective genders’ rankings, but both fell very much back to earth from their recent lofty perches as teams around the nation posted big results. Posting the biggest results of the weekend were a pair of women’s teams in No. 2 Angelo State and No. 4 Azusa Pacific, as well as another pair of men’s teams in No. 3 Texas A&M-Commerce and two-time defending national champion No. 4 Saint Augustine’s. Angelo State leapt up eight spots from a week ago, while Azusa Pacific rose 14. That’s the same number of rungs on the ladder the TAMU-Commerce men – led by National Athlete of the WeekMasoud Moghaddam – climbed, while Saint Augustine’s made its season debut and had not even been in the rankings last week. With the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships now two weeks behind in the rear view mirrors, expect more teams throughout the country to open up their top athletes’ outdoor campaigns in the coming weeks – especially as temperatures in the northern part of the country begin to warm up. See the full rankings below.
